IMAGINE PR has been appointed as the North American Public Relations Representative for Time + Tide, a collection of safari camps and island properties in Zambia and Madagascar.
Founded by Thierry Dalais, Time + Tide is a family-owned hospitality company dedicated to protecting and preserving extraordinary places through responsible tourism, conservation, and community engagement. The brand’s story traces back to the pioneering conservationist Norman Carr, who introduced the walking safari in the 1950s in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia while championing one of Africa’s earliest models of conservation tourism in partnership with local communities.
Through the Time + Tide Foundation, the company supports long-term community and conservation development through initiatives such as women’s empowerment programs, student sponsorship and educational support, as well as biodiversity conservation efforts. Today, Time + Tide carries this forward with camps in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park, and northern Madagascar in Nosy Komba and the exclusive private island Miavana.

In Zambia, the Time + Tide portfolio includes eight safari properties across South Luangwa National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park, across some of the country’s most wildlife-rich landscapes. In South Luangwa, Time + Tide Chinzombo and the seasonal camps Time + Tide Mchenja, Kakuli, Nsolo, and Luwi range from a contemporary tented camp to intimate bush camps crafted from natural materials and rebuilt each year to minimize environmental impact.
Known as the “Valley of the Leopard,” South Luangwa is celebrated for its exceptional predator sightings and its long-standing walking safari tradition, with opportunities for immersive guided walks between camps and sleep-outs under the stars. In contrast, Lower Zambezi offers a safari experience shaped by the Zambezi River. Here, Time + Tide Chongwe Camp, Chongwe Suites, and Chongwe House are located where the Chongwe River meets the Zambezi. The region is particularly known for water-based safari experiences, including canoeing and boat safaris, alongside traditional game drives, walking safaris, and catch-and-release fishing, as wildlife—including large herds of elephants—frequently gathers along the riverbanks.

In 2017, Time + Tide expanded with their first international venture to Madagascar with the opening of the exclusive island Miavana—introducing coral reefs and marine life to the portfolio. Accessible only by helicopter, Miavana occupies a secluded island with a storied past—from transient fishermen and pirates to a seaweed farm.
The island was first discovered decades ago by explorer and entrepreneur Jean‑Christophe Peyre, who later partnered with Time + Tide founder Thierry Dalais to transform it into Miavana, a conservation-driven private island retreat. At Miavana, guests can balance adventure with wellness, from diving, snorkeling, lemur trekking, and turtle monitoring to slower moments with in-villa spa treatments, yoga, and time spent in nature.
In 2024, Time + Tide opened Tsara Komba on the slopes of Nosy Komba, a volcanic island off the northwest coast of Madagascar. From lush jungle to teeming marine life, Tsara Komba’s forest-to-reef safari experience includes snorkeling, guided lemur trekking, mangrove sunset cruises, and more.

Beyond guiding guests to Africa’s most extraordinary places, Time + Tide continues to preserve and protect these wild places for future generations. The Time + Tide Foundation works with local communities, NGOs, local authorities, and conservation organizations with the aim of long-term support.
Projects include female empowerment programs to support female education in rural Zambia and Madagascar, health initiatives for direct medical support in remote communities, and conservation initiatives to protect fragile ecosystems and wildlife through environmental education, habitat monitoring, and partnerships with local conservation authorities in Zambia and Madagascar.

About Time + Tide
Time + Tide celebrates the passion and effort of many people and families, bringing together properties and locations to highlight the stunning natural beauty found exceptionally in Zambia and Madagascar. This story goes back to the 1950s in Zambia where Norman Carr pioneered walking safaris in the South Luangwa Valley, the 1990s when the Liebenberg family chose to showcase the Chongwe in the Lower Zambezi Valley, and in later years when the Peyre and wider Dalais family believed that the beauty of the northern part of Madagascar, in particular the archipelago where Miavana is situated, needed protection and promotion as a sustainable ecotourism development.
Time + Tide was brought together by Thierry Dalais, building on a dream of preserving places in the bush and at the beach in one-of-a-kind locations. Each of these locations needs biodiversity protection and the development of alternative economies that see to the preservation of our natural heritage. Time + Tide has focused on delivering immersive tourism experiences in these places, working with local communities, NGOs, local authorities, and conservation organizations, aiming for long-term sustainability and protection of these beautiful wild places for generations to come.
The portfolio includes Time + Tide Chinzombo, Time + Tide Luwi, Time + Tide Nsolo, Time + Tide Kakuli, Time + Tide Mchenja, Time + Tide Chongwe Camp, Time + Tide Chongwe Suites, Time + Tide Chongwe House, Time + Tide Tsara Komba, and Miavana by Time + Tide.
