The Quasar Evolution Returns Following Extensive Renovations

The Quasar Evolution, one of Quasar Expeditions' luxury yachts cruising the Galapagos Islands, is back in the water after undergoing extensive renovations providing environmentally friendly upgrades and a new look for the small-size yacht. Known for offering one-of-a-kind safari-style experiences around the remote island chain, the updates coincide with the family-owned company’s 40th anniversary this year.

The Quasar Evolution is a luxury expedition vessel following Darwin’s footsteps. The new design elements are inspired by Galápagos landscape, with natural patterns reminiscent of the islands’ volcanic action and artwork of endemic species made of natural materials like teak wood, stone, bamboo sourced from the coastal areas of Ecuador to create an authentic safari-style expedition atmosphere throughout the yacht and its 16 cabins, combining luxury with adventure for up to 32 travelers. The yacht’s unobstructed 360º views on its wrap-around decks provide optimal wildlife viewing to enhance the guest experience. Structural support bases for the main engines have been renewed to reduce onboard vibrations in addition to a revamp of its dining areas, suites, cabins, and common areas, which have been designed by Galápagos specialists at Valentina Abedrabbo Design Studio to exude an expedition camp atmosphere, alongside major upgrades to its efficiency and sustainability.

With the installation of a main propulsion engine replacement to reduce the vessel’s fuel consumption by 35%, Quasar continues its legacy of preserving the delicate ecosystem.

The Quasar Evolution sails on two different 8-day itineraries and one 15-day itinerary, all inspired by Charles Darwin’s discoveries spanning the islands. With a maximum capacity of 32 passengers, the Quasar Evolution continues to give guests exclusive access to the Galapagos that the company has provided for four decades.
