Horseback Riding at Tswalu Kalahari

As the largest private game reserve in South Africa, Tswalu Kalahari offers guests plenty of space – and time- to explore all that the Kalahari has to offer. The remote reserve can be discovered via horseback where guests can ride along with a guide on a custom safari experience and decide where they want to explore. Singita Serengeti Girls Run

The Grumeti Fund and Singita are now planning for the 3rd annual Girls Run in October 2020. Comprising all-inclusive stays at one of Singita’s lodges in Tanzania, the itinerary includes a variety of activities and a run that will see participants complete 13 miles daily over 3 days, traversing some of the most iconic wilderness areas in Africa. The exclusive, purpose-driven experience is aimed at raising funds for empowerment programs for girls and women, which are focused on providing opportunities for women to become leaders in conservation. Each donation assists in funding numerous non-profit initiatives, including scholarships for local girls in secondary school, vocational studies and university; training girl mentors and providing life skills and internships; as well as enterprise development training for women and environmental education for girls from local secondary schools. Serengeti Girls Run offers participants various opportunities to engage with the women who benefit from these programs.


Hiking Lion's Head and Devil's Peak in Cape Town

With undulating mountain chains, acres of forest and vast nature reserves right at its doorstep, Cape Town has a strong outdoor culture with hiking as one of the top activities. Guests of Ellerman House often venture up the surrounding mountains such as Lion’s Head and Devil’s Peak. Lion’s Head is situated in the heart of Cape Town overlooking the city, Robben Island, Table Mountain, the Cape wine lands, and beautiful Clifton where Ellerman House is located. The climb to the top is roughly an hour and a half and is a fairly steep walk followed by some rock climbing assisted with ladders and a few chains. The hike up Devil’s Peak begins on the Table Mountain road and offers spectacular views of the city and its surrounding areas. The hike is quite challenging but the views and the forest scenery are worth the effort.

Cycle Across the Swiss Alps in Arosa Nestled in the spectacular Graubünden mountains at an altitude of 5,900 feet sits Arosa, a picturesque traditional Swiss town straight out of a story book. Guests of all experience levels are invited to join Stefan on e-bike rides through the town and the easier mountain trails, while experienced riders can sign up for his annual Tour de Tschuggen, a rigorous three day ride from Chur to Arosa and on to Ascona.


Golf During the Green Season at Niseko Village Beginning in mid-April, the landscape at Niseko Village bursts to life. The lowland thaws with flowing rivers, blossoming flower fields, rolling greens, and warm temperatures with low humidity. A great way to enjoy the outdoors during the summer season in Niseko Village is by playing a game of golf - the area offers resort golf at its best with views of Mount Niseko Annupuri in the background. The Niseko Village Golf Course, located right next to Hilton Niseko Village, offers 6,845 yards of greenery for golfers of all levels. Open from May to October, travelers can enjoy early bird or twilight golf combined with the many other experiences, such as tree trekking, a hot air balloon ride and a soak in the hot springs, the village has to offer.

Diving at Fregate Island

Fregate Island is home to the Dive Center at Fregate Island Marina and offers various diving courses and certifications. All guided dives are conducted from one of Fregate Island's dive vessels. There are numerous beautiful sites, which are exclusive to Fregate Island guests, and suit all levels of diver from beginner through to experienced. A PADI Instructor accompanies each guest on every dive. Certified divers are required to show proof of certification before diving.

A complimentary introduction to scuba is available on request, enabling explorers to experience the sensation of breathing underwater before they decide to take a course. Diving experiences are available both day and night and include a private yacht charter, experienced captain and dive instructor, all dive equipment, requested refreshments and snacks on board, full continental lunch/breakfast, beach towels and accompaniment by guests’ personal assistants.The marine environment around Fregate Island is truly diverse and unspoiled, teeming with color and dramatic topography. The scuba instructors know all the best spots, and guests are sure to see amazing marine life including plenty of fish, gentle sharks and plenty of coral.

Whenever divers return from their sea adventures, their Personal Assistant or one of the Fregate Island Team will be waiting with refreshing cooled towels and crushed iced drinks.
