Austria's Award-Winning Medical Wellness Retreat Taps Boutique Luxury Travel Agency for North American Outreach

New York, NY – May 7, 2026 – IMAGINE PR has been appointed as the North American Public Relations Representative for Mount Med Resort, an award-winning medical spa in Austria’s Tyrolean Alps. This adults-only retreat opened in December 2024 in Oberau, an alpine village renowned for its pristine air and gentle pace of life in the Wildschönau Valley. The property's healing architecture blends an 850-year-old monastic tithe barn with modern construction thoughtfully integrated into the mountainside, spanning nearly 485,000 square feet.

The Concept

A medically guided alpine retreat that nourishes the body, mind, and spirit, giving guests the personalized blueprint to live better, long after they leave. Mount Med Resort elevates wellness in the healing surroundings of the Tyrolean Alps through cutting-edge medical technology, including on-site diagnostics spanning metabolic testing, advanced laboratory analysis, and 3D body scanning. Comprehensive imaging, including MRI, CT, and ultrasound, is available through a close partnership with a dedicated Radiological Institute.

Health begins from within. At the center of the experience is a holistic, evidence-based nutritional concept and philosophy, developed by Dr. Alexander Papp over more than a decade. Purposefully crafted to improve energy, reduce inflammation, and support natural cellular renewal, as a core pillar to creating and reaching health goals, sustainably and without restriction, and guided by medical expertise and culinary excellence.

A Metabolic Blueprint assessment builds a detailed picture of each guest's physical condition, informing a personalized plan across nutrition, treatment, movement, and health that is simple and transformative, by design.

The Programs

Led by a health concierge, Mount Med’s programs are designed to meet diverse and individual needs, distinguished by tailored measures. Each package combines medical expertise with a holistic perspective. Carefully curated, they provide guidance when health can often feel complex, with a clearly defined focus and structure on prevention, aesthetics, movement, detox, and performance:

  • Prevention and Vitality

  • Aesthetics and Age Reversal

  • Orthopedic Mobility and Motion

  • Detox and Weight Management

  • Quick Preventive Health

  • Healthy Break

Dining

Nutrition is central to each guest’s health journey. The meals are high-protein, low-carb, and designed to deliver great health benefits without leaving anyone hungry. Executive Chef Phillip Schnabel oversees both the property's nutritional programming and its restaurants, including the Stuben dining rooms, Aurea Fine Dining, an intimate eight-seat restaurant set within an 850-year-old vaulted wine cellar, and the Tenne Lounge. The iCOOK Atelier extends the culinary experience through hands-on cooking classes and workshops led by nutrition experts. More information can be found here.

Accommodations

Design-forward accommodation options include 46 rooms and suites, including Chalet Suites, Junior Suites, and Mountain Resort Rooms that provide privacy and space to recharge and take in the restorative panoramic mountain views. The Chalet Collection further elevates the experience, offering complete privacy alongside a curated suite of personal services, including a dedicated Health Concierge, en-suite personal training, private cooking classes, and exclusive spa suite access. Room overviews can be found here.

Design

Interiors throughout are green, warm, and restorative in feel — guided by the philosophy that a house breathing like a garden nourishes the soul. Once used to collect tithes for Bavaria's Seeon Monastery, the Zehentstube now sets the scene for dining beneath 18th and 19th-century paintings and the lingering scent of mountain herbs. More information can be found here.

How to Get There

The property is approximately one hour from Innsbruck Airport, 80 minutes from Salzburg Airport, and under two hours from Munich Airport. More information can be found here.

About Mount Med Resort

The award-winning Mount Med Resort in the Wildschönau valley in Tyrol – opened in December 2024 – unites medical expertise with holistic therapies and a scientifically grounded nutritional concept. Its mission is to deliver a sustainable reset for body and mind through individually tailored, physician-supervised programs, with a long-term focus on health stabilization.

Nestled in the natural landscape of the Austrian Alps, the harmoniously designed resort comprises 60 rooms, Junior Suites and Chalet Suites, a Medical Spa with treatment, pool and sauna facilities spanning 3,500 m2, sports and fitness areas, as well as historic dining rooms serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the publicly accessible fine-dining restaurant Aurea.

The resort’s approach is fundamentally integrative: drawing on advanced diagnostics, individualized programs are developed that combine physical activity, targeted therapies, and anti-inflammatory nutrition. The culinary offering reflects this philosophy, translating it into a pleasure-driven cuisine without compromise – aligned with the physician-defined goal of cellular cleansing (autophagy) and structured to be low in carbohydrates and sugar.

The five medical programs – Prevention & Vitality, Aesthetics & Age Reverse, Detox & Weight Management, Ortho Mobility & Motion, and Quick Preventive Health – are designed to help guests enhance their vitality, support the body’s own regenerative processes such as cellular renewal, and establish sustainable routines for everyday life.
